Split in Half is a free geometry puzzle in your browser. Rotate a cut line or plane through random 2D or 3D shapes and try to divide them into equal-weight halves. Score by how close your split comes to a perfect 50/50 balance.
Also known as: cut in half game, equal split puzzle, balance cut puzzle
Rotate a cut line or plane to split a random 2D or 3D shape into equal-weight halves and score by how close you get.
How to play Split in Half
Choose Shape (2D or 3D) and Easy or Hard. Switching either before you cut immediately deals a fresh round at the new settings.
2D: drag anywhere on the stage to swing the cut line around its pivot. There is no snapping and no angle readout, so you judge it by eye.
3D: drag empty stage to orbit the solid. Drag the cut (the intersection polygon or its end handles) to tilt the plane. Opposite tilts are the same cut.
On Hard, start the drag on the pivot handle to move the pivot itself — anywhere on the 2D stage, or through space on 3D, including outside the shape.
Tap Cut when you think the line or plane divides the shape into two equal halves. After a 3D cut you can still orbit to inspect both pieces.
Read the weights of piece A and piece B, the Δ between them, and the balance bar to see which way your cut leaned. Avg and Best accuracy are tracked per shape and difficulty; use the trash icon to clear the active variant.
Accuracy = max(0, 100 − Δ), where Δ is the gap between the two piece weights (percentages that always sum to 100). A perfect 50/50 split scores 100; a 55/45 split scores 90. Easy and Hard share this scale — Hard is tougher because of the free pivot and irregular shapes. A cut that misses the shape or shaves off a sliver is rejected for free so you can re-aim. 2D and 3D keep separate Avg and Best per difficulty.
