How to play Sky Hop
Use the Classic / 60s / Daily control to pick a mode. Daily uses the same UTC gate sequence for everyone until the next midnight; add ?daily=1 to open Daily from a link. Switch modes only from the start screen or after a run.
Press Start, then flap with Space, click, or tap on the field. Gravity pulls the kite down; each flap sets an upward burst. Key repeat is ignored and Space will not scroll the page.
The kite stays at a fixed horizontal position while rounded gate posts scroll in from the right. Slip through the gap — touching a post, the floor, or the ceiling ends the run.
Your score is gates passed — one count when the kite passes each gap. Thread the centre for a small “Perfect” floater only; it does not add to the gate count. Milestone flames at 10, 25, and 50 gates are visual only.
Classic runs until you crash. 60s starts the clock on your first flap and ends at 0:00 if you are still flying. Daily shows today’s target gates (from a reference run on the shared course) plus your best for today.
The headline number is gates cleared. Perfect passes and milestone flames do not change the count. Classic, 60s, and Daily each keep a device best via gates passed. Daily also stores today’s best separately. Top % on the result is an on-device estimate from exp(−gates/18), not a live leaderboard.
