Find the odd color tile in a free browser puzzle. Play a 60-second score attack or the daily grids — the color gap shrinks as you advance.

How to play Color Tap

  1. Choose 60 seconds or Daily before you play. Open Daily from a link with ?daily=1. Daily uses the UTC date for every grid, base color, and odd-tile offset, so players at the same point in the run see the same board until the next midnight. Switch modes from the start screen or after a run. The mode stays locked while the clock is running.
  2. Press Play. You have 3 lives and 60 seconds in both modes. The clock pauses while the tab is hidden, and hidden time does not count against the speed bonus.
  3. Tiles have no labels. Tap the one whose color does not match. A correct tap flashes green. A wrong tap shakes the grid, costs 1 life, and resets your combo. The timer, lives, score, and best stay on screen.
  4. The grid starts at 2×2 and steps up every 2 correct taps through 3×3, 4×4, 5×5, 6×6, then 7×7. It stays at 7×7.
  5. The odd tile is offset in CIE Lab, not raw RGB. Through the round the target distance steps down: about ΔE 35 on the 2×2 and 3×3, then about ΔE 20 on the 4×4 and 5×5, then about ΔE 12 on the 6×6 and 7×7. It never goes below ΔE 8.

Each correct tap scores round((10 + speed bonus) × combo). The speed bonus is 20 on an immediate tap and falls linearly to 0 when the tap lands 1.5 seconds or later after the grid appears. Combo starts at ×1, then ×1.25 from the 5th correct tap in a row, ×1.5 from the 10th, and ×2 from the 20th. A wrong tap scores nothing. 3 wrong taps end the run, and the clock is always 60 seconds. Targets are ΔE 35, 20, 12 and never below ΔE 8. Best score is saved on this device separately for 60 seconds and for Daily. Top % is an on-device estimate from round(100 × exp(−score / 600)), never below 1, not a live leaderboard.
