How to play Minesweeper

  1. The page opens in 📅 Daily Mines: Intermediate 16×16 with 40 mines. Everyone who opens on the same first cell gets the same mine field for that UTC day. Switch to Classic for Beginner (9×9, 10 mines), Intermediate, or Expert (30×16, 99 mines) with a fresh board every run.
  2. Tap a hidden cell to reveal it. The timer stays at 00:00.00 until your first reveal, which is always a safe opening. Numbers show how many mines touch that cell.
  3. Long-press or right-click toggles a flag on a hidden cell. Wrong flags do not end the game — only stepping on a mine does.
  4. Tap a revealed number when adjacent flags match that number to chord-open the rest (if any hidden neighbour is a mine, you lose).
  5. On a keyboard, click the board or Tab to it, then use the arrow keys to move the cursor, Enter or Space to reveal, and F to flag.
  6. Clear every safe cell to win. Daily allows unlimited replays; only your fastest clear today is kept, and a loss is not recorded. Completion streaks count consecutive UTC days you cleared the daily board.

Ranking is completion time only (lower is better), shown as MM:SS.CC. Mistakes count flags left on safe cells when you win — they are shown on the result and share card but do not change your time. Best times and daily streaks are stored on this device only; there is no public leaderboard or live player count.
