How to play Peg Solitaire
Daily is the default: one shared board and opening vacancy for the UTC date. Classic (?daily=0) lets you pick English, European, Triangle, or Plus.
A jump is a peg in a straight line over a neighboring peg into an empty hole. The jumped peg is removed. On the triangle, jumps follow all six directions, including the diagonals.
English, European, and Plus start with the center empty. On the triangle, tap the hole that starts empty before you play.
Tap a peg, then tap a glowing hole, or drag the peg onto that hole. Tap the wood to deselect. The game ends when no jumps remain. One peg in the center is perfect.
Undo, Redo, Restart, Hint, and Peek stay available on the result. Undo works after a dead end and puts the move count back. Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z) undoes. Ctrl+Shift+Z redoes. Peek is off on the daily challenge.
The timer is in the gear menu, off until you turn it on, and it starts on the first jump. It pauses while the tab is hidden.
Fewer pegs left is better. A single peg in the center ranks above a single peg elsewhere, then fewer moves, then a faster time only when both runs used the timer. Classic stores a best per board. Daily stores a win for that UTC date once no jumps remain, plus a streak. Leaving before the board is finished does not count.
