Crack a numeric code with color-coded green, gold, and gray clues before your attempts run out. Play free with unlimited practice or the shared daily code.
How to play Crack the Password
Pick a difficulty: Easy is 3 digits in 5 attempts, Medium 4 in 5, Hard 5 in 6, and Impossible 6 in 7. Medium is the default.
The page opens in Practice with unlimited random codes. Below the description, use the 📅 Daily Challenge / Practice toggle — Daily is the day’s shared UTC codes, one try per difficulty per day. Switch back to Practice anytime.
Open Stats in the header (next to settings) for Daily and Practice tabs. Each difficulty keeps its own daily streak and history; Practice shows games played, cracked count, and best crack in X attempts out of Y per difficulty.
Type digits on your keyboard or the device’s numeric pad. Backspace removes the last digit you entered.
The guess auto-submits the instant the final digit lands, so make any corrections before that point.
Read the tile colours: green is the right digit in the right spot, gold is a digit that is in the code but somewhere else, and grey means it is not in the code.
Narrow the code down and enter it exactly before your attempts run out.
Scoring is attempts-based and identical on every difficulty: score = max(0, 100 − (attempts used − 1) × 10). Cracking it on the first guess scores 100 and each extra attempt costs 10, so the worst winning score is 60 on Easy and 40 on Impossible. Running out of attempts reveals the code and scores nothing — greens found along the way earn no partial credit. Daily tracks a separate current and best streak per difficulty; Stats Daily tab shows history and streaks, and the Practice tab shows games played, cracked count, and best crack in X attempts out of Y per difficulty.
